ADVANCED MODEL FOR DETERMINING TOPOLOGICAL LOCALITY ON THE INTERNET

Abstract

The topological distance estimation methods are keys to efficiency of peer-to-peer and distributed networks. Contrary to many existing or proposed methods which usually employ external infrastructure, we have developed and improved purely computational client-side CARMA metric based on the precomputed topological structure of the Internet. As the experimental validation results show, this metric fairly well corresponds to the actual measured distance.
